liner
1. n. a ship or aircraft etc. carrying passengers on a regular line. Phrases and idioms liner train a fast goods train with detachable containers on permanently coupled wagons. 2. n. a removable lining. LINER comb. form (prec. by a numeral, usu. one or two) colloq. a spoken passage of a specified number of lines in a play etc. (a one-liner).
